The Parish Council has a maximum of 5 members.

Elections take place every 4 years.

2024 A new Clerk, A-M Benson, was appointed on 1 June.

2024 In May H Pettiford retired as a Councillor. She was elected in 2003.

2024 In May the Clerk P Ashley retired.

2024 In February Cllr Pettiford resigned from the role of Chair and Cllr Bentley was elected to the position.

2022 The local election was scheduled for Thursday 5 May. With no new candidates the 5 councillors were re-elected unopposed.

Cllrs: H Pettiford, E Shephard, S Bentley, D Dangerfield & J Thompson.

The election was held after only 3 years to coincide with the election for the new Unitary Council for North Yorkshire. The next local election will not be held until 2027.

2019 The local election was scheduled for Thursday 2 May. With no new candidates the 5 councillors were re-elected unopposed.

2019 In September a vacancy arose and was duly advertised.

2019 In December, following an application regarding the casual vacancy, that was duly advertised, the position was filled and the Council now has 5 members.

2015 The local election was scheduled for Thursday 7 May. With no new candidates the 5 councillors were re-elected unopposed.

2013 In May, following an application regarding the casual vacancy, that was duly advertised, the position was filled and the council then had 5 members.

2011 The local election was scheduled for Thursday 5 May. With the resignation of one councillor and no new candidates  the remaining 4 councillors were re-elected unopposed.

2007 Two councillors resigned but as no one stood at the election the 3 remaining councillors were re-elected unopposed. Subsequently the 2 casual vacancies were filled having been duly advertised.
